In honor of Women’s Equality Day on Aug. 26, Mattel
announced the new additions to their all-women series. .
Civil Rights activist Rosa Parks and the
first American female astronaut Sally Ride
will now be available as barbies. .
Each of the dolls are sculpted as close to the likenesses
of their "real-life counterparts" as possible and
feature educational background information and a quote.
According to Mattel, their Inspiring Women Series
is meant to “pay tribute to incredible heroines.”.
The Inspiring Women Series pays tribute
to incredible heroines – courageous women
who paved the way for generations of girls
to dream bigger than ever before. We're
humbled to welcome two new role models
into this important collection, Mattel, via statement.
The series was originally launched in March 2018,
and features women such as Amelia Earhart,
