Employers must provide up to par accommodation for foreign workers

The spike in Covid-19 cases at immigration depots and construction sites is a cause of concern for the government.
The Human Resources Ministry says it is hoped that the Minimum Standards of Housing and Amenities (Amendment) Act, which comes into force on June 1, will help curb the spread of the virus.
The Work Ministry also said it will beef up enforcement of the laws to ensure contractors strictly follow the health and safety guidelines at the sites and at the workers’ quarters.
